What is inclusive education and how to work with youth groups that have participants with different abilities? These questions inspired us, as well as our partners from Estonia, Latvia, Spain and Portugal, to start the joint long-term project “IncEd: inclusive Education”, in which, for two years, we will develop methodological materials for educators and youth workers.
The main goal of the project is to develop new and adapt existing educational games and methods for working with mixed groups of children and youth. As a result of the project, the following will be developed (and translated into 6 languages):
A guide for educators and youth workers on working with mixed ability groups;
A set of methodological materials, including descriptions of informal methods and games, as well as practical recommendations for their implementation.
Kickoff meeting in Tallinn From 12th to 15th of February, the first meeting of all partners took place in Tallinn (Estonia), with Vivere Kool and Shokkin Group as hosts.
We not only got to know each other, but were already actively involved in the project work: we discussed the principles of work, developed a draft guide for teachers, and discussed visualization and communication with the target group of the project.
From this moment and for the next several months, the project team will start working on divided tasks such as developing the visual identity, kickoff the research stage for the project result 1 and start preparing the content of the first international training course, that will gather educators from all involved countries already this July.
“IncEd: Inclusive Education” is a Strategic Partnership project is implemented by Vivere Kool (Estonia) in collaboration with Shokkin Group (Estonia), Produções Fixe (Portugal), Ticket2Europe (Spain) and Cesis Berzaine Primary School (Latvia), with the support of the Erasmus+ programme through the Estonian National Agency.
